"CAREER"

Rich started racing at the age of 18 running enduro cars on both asphalt & dirt.
Having gotten the taste of racing and wanting to race more and more, Rich kept building better cars for the chance to win.
With enduros only racing 4 to 6 times a year, it took Rich a little longer learning curve to figure out how to make a car last 200 laps without any failures.
Finally, in 1993 with the help of his dad Don, they built a 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo for the 94 season.
They went on to dominate enduros at Hanford winning 3 out of 4 races including the championship, and also ran the same car in the hobby stock division at tulare claiming 2 more wins.
After 2 years racing the enduro car claiming 6 wins total of 8 races at Hanford (and another championship in 95), they were ready to move up to the street stock division.
Rich ran the street stock and enduro in 96 at Hanford winning both championships and a total of 7 races.
In 1997 Rich tried his hand at Late Model racing back on asphalt driving for Quality Performance Motors out of Clovis, CA. He proved to be a fast learner winning in just his 5th start and finishing 6th overall in points.
One more season in the late model in 98 and with the cost of racing a late model too high, Quality Performance could not afford to run the car anymore.
After sitting out the 99 season to regroup, Rich purchased another street stock. Just after he purchased the street stock a call came in from Kelly Johnson in Sanger, CA to drive a brand new 360 Super Modified he built to run at Madera and Bakersfield.
After racing the the Super about a dozen times with moderate success, the Johnson's sold the car at the end of the 2000 season. Racing the street stock off and on through 2000 and 2001 claiming wins at Hanford and Chowchilla, the decision was made to send the car to Pelletier Performance in Coalinga, CA for complete update of all chassis components.
With Rich's car under reconstruction, he drove Paul Pelletiers street stock #4 in special races at the end of 2002 claiming win, 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Now that his car ready for the 2003 season the team went after the state and Hanford titles. Rich captured both titles winning a total of 8 races between 3 tracks.
After such a great season a call came from Mike Johnson in Clovis CA, to drive his second dirt late model.
Rich made the most of the opportunity with 4 races and 4 top tens. After motor problems on the 5th race, once again the ride was over. Rich stepped back into his street stock in time to claim another state championship in 2004.
The 2005 season was committed full time to the street stock, claiming the Bakersfield Speedway title, the first annual East vs West (Bakersfield vs Santa Maria) and just missing the state title by 7 points.
The team ran a total of 32 races in 2005 and capped off the season with 4 straight wins at 4 different tracks in special event races.
After such an exhausting season in 2005 the decision was made to just go after the East vs West title in 2006.
Rich was off just a bit in 06 with no wins and 3rd overall points. Family obligations required the sell of street stock and run part time in 2007 for other car owners.
Rich drove a street stock for Rodney Sullivan at Hanford claiming 2 early season wins. About May of 2007 a call came in from Bob & Rance Minyard to drive their dirt Modified the remainder of the 07 season.
Rich drove the Modified at Santa Maria and returned to victory circle in just his 3rd start ever in a modified.
He went on to claim one more win and finished 10th in points dispite missing races at the beginning of the season. Rich has once again teamed up with Minyard Racing for 2008 and will be a threat to win at every track they go to.
Rich has proven he is a front runner and a threat to win in any car he is in and his versatility will help the team bring home victories. So with the cost of everything from fuel to parts rising every year, Minyard Racing & Denman Motorsports are looking for additional sponsorship to help keep Rich up front.
